The Droplet and the Sun
How a tiny droplet contains the reflection of the immense sun.
— Bediuzzaman Said Nursi, Mesnevi-i Nuriye, Katre (The Droplet)A droplet of water, no matter how small, when held against the sun, displays all the attributes and colors of the sun in its tiny mirror. Human nature is exactly like a droplet. In itself, it is nothingness and darkness. But when the sun of the knowledge of God strikes it, it becomes a brilliant mirror reflecting a manifestation of all the Divine Names. If this droplet turns its back to the sun, it is merely a dark drop of water; if it turns its face towards it, it becomes a sun itself. So turn your face to the sun and be illuminated.
